Earth Day Special: 10 Reasons Why You’ll be Buried Alive
Trash in America is becoming a potential epidemic. The United States has more trash than any other country in the world, throwing away over 500 billion pounds of garbage every year. Each person averages 4.4 pounds of trash per day.
The small trash people throw away, like paper products, plastic and food scraps adds up over time, resulting in the U.S. creating more trash than they can support. Many landfills have reached capacity, and some states have no space for additional landfills.
As an Earth Day special for Green Computing Report, the infographic below details how Americans distribute their trash.
