RMS Cloud Deployed from Verne Global Datacenter Campus
Verne Global announced that RMS is deploying its RMS Cloud from Verne Global's data center campus in Iceland. Powered by the RMS Cloud, RMS(one), the insurance industry's first real-time exposure and risk management environment, will empower insurers and reinsurers to execute risk modeling, underwriting and portfolio management on a single, open platform hosted in a 100 percent green environment. RMS(one) will leverage Datapipe's Stratosphere high-performance computing (HPC) green cloud platform for peak loads.
The growing demand for big data analytics is putting pressure on companies' HPC infrastructures, requiring organizations to look for locations where power is highly available, with the flexibility needed to handle rapid growth.
Datapipe chose Verne Global's 100 percent dual-sourced renewably powered data center campus as the green cloud node for its Stratosphere HPC platform to ensure that customers, like RMS, have on-demand scalability and reliability as they build out large-scale processing environments.
"Data-intensive, power-hungry services like big data analytics and high-performance computing are becoming ideal cloud-based applications as the quality and quantity of data continues to grow," said Jeff Monroe, chief executive officer of Verne Global. "With aging power grids and rising concerns about the environmental impact of data, Verne Global is thrilled that innovative companies like Datapipe and RMS are tapping into the abundant and available renewable power offered through our data center campus."
