AMAX Datacenter and HPC Solutions Add Ivy Bridge E5-2600 v2 Integration

AMAX announced the immediate release of its latest, most advanced CPU-based computing solutions built upon the revolutionary new Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 Ivy Bridge CPUs. These powerful CPUs take full advantage of new Intel 22nm 3-D transistor technology for higher core counts and frequency (up to 12 cores/24 threads) and faster memory support (up to 1866 MHz) while consuming only half the power at the same performance level as 2-D transistors on 32nm process technology.

Boasting up to 40% more energy efficiency and 35% greater performance, key benefits will be to datacenter applications requiring more core/memory density for virtualization performance, support for up to 1.5TB RAM which is ideal for in-memory database applications, and higher FLOPS, core count and increased cache size (up to 2.5MB per core) for compute sensitive HPC applications.

Product lines that will feature an immediate CPU upgrade to the Ivy Bridge E5-2600 v2 CPUs will include PHAT Data, AMAX's award-winning total turnkey Hadoop cluster compatible with all Hadoop distributions (Cloudera, Hortonworks, IDH, etc) which showed a 21% performance increase in the CPU's integer processing power benchmark, as well as a 20% increase in the floating point processing power benchmark with the Ivy Bridge upgrade. Other platforms benefiting from the CPU upgrade include Open Stack platforms, AMAX's ClusterMax HPC Cluster series, as well as availability for all customized OEM appliances and clusters.
