Backupify Developer Platform Announced 

Backupify today announced the availability of the Backupify Developer Platform, a platform with a set of open APIs designed to extend Backupify’s innovative backup technology to SaaS application providers. Building on the beta launch of the platform earlier in the year, Backupify is working with several leading SaaS companies, such as PipelineDeals to integrate Backupify into their solutions - ensuring their customers crucial security needs are met through powerful data protection in the cloud.

While the adoption of SaaS applications continues to rise, data security and privacy concerns remain for many companies. SaaS data security and the risk of losing data in the cloud are still large hurdles to adoption.

According to Jeffrey M. Kaplan, managing director of THINKstrategies and founder of the Cloud Computing Showcase, “Companies that are investing in cloud applications are also investing in the backup and security necessary to keep their cloud data safe. Having a secure, second copy of their data is becoming a requirement for many companies using cloud applications and the Backupify Developer Platform can play a significant role in bringing cloud-to-cloud backup capabilities to more companies.”

Building on Backupify’s success developing Backupify for Google Apps and Backupify for Salesforce, Backupify identified an additional market opportunity. The Backupify Developer Platform was built for SaaS providers looking for a simple, fast way to integrate Backupify’s unique backup technology into their own applications. New features include better API description language that allows partners to start running backups quickly, within a few hours. There is no custom code required for a scalable, encrypted and secure backup.
