Intigua Launches AWS Module for Hybrid Clouds
Intigua today introduced the Intigua AWS Management Module. By extending the award-winning Intigua 2.0 automation platform to support Amazon Web Services, Intigua is making it easy for enterprises to ensure that VM instances in AWS adhere to the same corporate policies for SLAs, security and compliance as their private cloud VMs.

Intigua integrates with both Amazon EC2 and vSphere to auto-discover rogue instances and automatically configure them with the right management and security technologies, based on centralized policies. The Intigua AWS Management Module:
- Automatically discovers newly provisioned AWS instances within a company’s environment
- Configures AWS settings to ensure proper connectivity between the AWS instance and the disparate back-end management systems (e.g., backup, monitoring, patching, etc.)
- Inspects the new AWS instances to determine its profile (e.g., class of server, location, regulatory requirements)
- Utilizes the discovered profile to deliver and configure the right combination of management agents via the Intigua Virtual Container
- Communicates with the back-end systems of each management tool (such as Tivoli, Splunk, Hyperic, NetBackup) to ensure the newly created instances are registered and associated with the appropriate management policies (backup, monitoring, patching, etc.)
- Continuously monitors the management stack to detect drift and throttle resource consumption.

Intigua Virtual Containers, a key enabling technology within the Intigua 2.0 platform, is the first product that encapsulates critical management, security and compliance agents in protected “sandboxes” that are de-coupled from the underlying guest OS. This allows virtual agents to run on machines without the risk and overhead of physically installing them, as well as allowing all virtual agents (monitoring, security, etc.) to be monitored and orchestrated from a single unified portal.
