Dimension Data Adds Four Cloud Datacenters
Dimension Data today announced the addition of four new global cloud data centers to address the ongoing demand for enterprise-class cloud services. The new facilities bring the total number of Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) locations to 11, with multiple data centers in each of the Americas, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Australia regions.
Dimension Data's MCPs host the company's public cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and managed hosting services. Each MCP provides end-users with low-latency access to secure, reliable, enterprise-class public, private and hosted private cloud services. Dimension Data MCP locations include: San Jose, Calif. and Ashburn, Va., U.S.; Amsterdam, The Netherlands;Sydney, Australia; Johannesburg, South Africa; Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong, China.
Steve Nola, CEO of Dimension Data's cloud business unit, said, "The addition of these four key MCP locations adds capacity to the United States, Australia and Europe, where our client base is growing rapidly and requires multiple cloud data centers to support business continuity, backup and replication within the region. Sao Paulo, as Dimension Data's first MCP in South America, will create availability for global enterprises to locate data in this region."
Services will become available at the MCP locations as follows:
- Ashburn, Virginia – second site is currently available
- Melbourne, Australia – November 2013
- London, U.K. – January 2014
- Sao Paulo, Brazil – January 2014
