AMAX Shows Off Rack-Level System Manufacturing Skills
AMAX has announced that it will be leveraging its core competencies in x86-based OEM manufacturing and scalable data center platforms to provide total turnkey rack-level appliance solutions for companies offering big data, cloud computing, storage and security applications and services.
AMAX is now able to help software companies and service-providers build successful turnkey solutions by designing and validating optimized platforms either based on standard x86 or Facebook-inspired Open Compute Project (OCP) architectures, due to its status as an official Solution Provider of OCP solutions.
The rack-level solutions represent Level 11 (L11) manufacturing capabilities, which include node-level assembly followed by rack cabinet assembly and OS/software validation for a total rack-level solution. All L11 solutions are manufactured in an ISO 9001 and ISO 140001 facility with the utmost focus on stringent manufacturing quality standards, followed by a thorough proprietary testing process which tests all solutions at the component, server, rack and solution level to assure complete compatibility, optimization and validation between the hardware and software layers. AMAX also has expertise in creating custom test automation software along with validating proprietary software stacks with efficient hardware designs.
AMAX offers a full menu of services from NPI, Product Lifecycle & Supply Chain Management, Compliance & Regulatory Consulting, Custom Branding, Global Fulfillment & Logistics, and Try & Buy Program Support & Refurbishing Services.
"AMAX has historically comprised of two successful divisions -- OEM appliance manufacturing and Enterprise/HPC solutions," said Matt Thauberger, Director of Sales, AMAX. "With the explosion of data requirements and virtualization, we are seeing a growing need not just for server appliances, but for rack-level appliances to handle large-scale computing for cloud, storage and data applications. Because of AMAX's ability to design and build on standard x86 and OCP architectures, this convergence of market needs plays right into our strengths of building total integrated solutions for whatever scale and performance requirements, whether single-servers or large-scale modules of fully-populated racks."
An example of a successful total turnkey rack-level solution designed and built by AMAX is the revolutionary new IO.Cloud product from IO Data Centers (IO), launched in January at OCP Summit V. With a platform designed by AMAX in partnership with IO, IO.Cloud is a fully-turnkey cloud solution which endeavors to be the first commercially available Enterprise Cloud solution that is built on a fully-converged, open reference architecture, comprised of Open Compute designed hardware and OpenStack Cloud software.
