Bright Computing Releases Bright Cluster Manager for Hadoop

Bright Computing today announced the release of Bright Cluster Manager for Apache Hadoop. This add-on for Bright Cluster Manager 7 enables customers to deploy complete Hadoop clusters on bare metal servers, providing a single-pane-of-glass for managing both the physical cluster and the Hadoop software.

Integrating provisioning of the physical cluster and the Hadoop software, Bright Cluster Manager 7 greatly reduces the time and effort needed to get a cluster into production.

Bright Cluster Manager 7 supports the leading distributions of Apache Hadoop, enabling Bright's customers to choose the one that best fits their needs while taking advantage of Bright Cluster Manager's advanced capabilities.

Beyond installation and provisioning, Bright Cluster Manager 7 provides comprehensive monitoring and management of the Hadoop cluster through its award winning graphical user interface, so that system administrators can detect problems early and correct them before they cause a service disruption.

Integrated HDFS management operations enable Bright Cluster Manager 7 operators to easily allocate storage resources to users from the same management interface.

"By adding integrated support for Apache Hadoop to Bright Cluster Manager 7, we bring all of our cluster management capabilities and expertise to bear, helping customers operate their Hadoop clusters efficiently right from the start," said Dr.Matthijs van Leeuwen, Founder and CEO of Bright Computing. "Whether they need to run multiple instances of Hadoop at the same time, or deploy a hybrid HPC and Hadoop cluster, Bright Cluster Manager 7 makes the task easy."
