Netmagic NTSS Services Powered by CloudByte ElastiStor

CloudByte announced today that its ElastiStor platform is powering Netmagic’s Netmagic Tiered Secure Storage (NTSS) services. Enabled by CloudByte’s ElastiStor technology, NTSS offers metered IOPS for customers' mission-critical applications and it is live on four different geographical zones within India, delivering file and block level storage services to dozens of customers with mission-critical requirements. ElastiStor is a unified storage solution that provides secure isolation and guaranteed storage performance to each application.

“Capacity, performance and cost are the three important factors while choosing an enterprise storage solution, but it’s rare for enterprises to hit all three of these targets simultaneously. High IOPS storage almost always comes with a heavy cost attached, and if an enterprise has a stringent budget for storage they’re usually forced to compromise on performance or capacity, or both,” said Karan Kirpalani, Associate VP Products and Services, Netmagic. “CloudByte’s ElastiStor storage solution gives us the ability to provide secure high-performance, low-cost storage services to our customers with end-to-end QoS. It’s given us an innovative edge over competitors.”

The CloudByte patent-pending Virtual Storage Machine (VSM) architecture enables Netmagic to precisely define dynamic storage capacity and IOPS requirements for each application. Customers can provision storage instances with the highest available IOPS at the minimum storage slab. NTSS provides enterprises a highly flexible storage offering at vastly reduced costs when compared to expensive in-house solutions for applications that are capacity or performance intensive. Customers have the flexibility to choose from multiple IOPS slabs starting from 50 IOPS going up to 25,000 IOPS and 50,000 IOPS and storage capacities starting from as little as 100 GB.

“CloudByte enables Netmagic to offer Storage-as-a-Service, far more flexible than other available offerings currently in the market and to be in that league, Netmagic needed an innovative technology,” said Felix Xavier, Founder and CEO of CloudByte. “In addition, CloudByte goes a step ahead and guarantees performance while achieving this.”
