AMAX Upgrades Platforms with Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 Processors
AMAX has announced its diverse product line, including the award-winning CloudMax Converged Cloud solution and PHAT-Data Hadoop cluster, are available integrated with the latest Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 family.
Key AMAX server platforms that will be available with the new Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors include:
- CloudMax Cloud Server — a 2U Dual-CPU High-Efficiency server featuring 12x 3.5″ drives for greater cost efficiency for cloud storage, while offering the ultimate in availability with up to 4x internal SSDs that can be used for OS or cache without sacrificing storage space.
- PHAT Data High-Density Data Node Server — a 2-Node server tailored for Hadoop fitting two dual-CPU nodes in a 2U form factor to achieve an optimal CPU to spindle ratio. This platform is used as a reference architecture for Hortonworks’ HDP distribution.
- Open Compute (OCP) Winterfell Node – 3 nodes per 2OU sled for a whopping 108 cores of compute power.
- StorMax I/O Optimized Storage Servers — a 1U 4x 3.5″ or 8x 2.5″ I/O optimized storage server with increased capacity and flexibility for large to hyperscale data center deployments.
- StorMax High-Density Storage Server – featuring up to 72 hot-swap drives for 432TB total capacity and 12Gb/s SAS for maximum density and storage performance.
- AMAS On-Premise Server Appliance Platforms – from memory-maximized (up to 1.5TB of high-speed 2133Mhz DDR4 RAM), to density maximized (four dual-CPU nodes in a 2U form factor) to robust storage features (2U storage server with 12 drives including internal SSD drive options for OS and cache), AMAX offers a full line of appliance platforms for ISVs looking for a customized and validated platform integrate into an ROI-driving total solution.
“Intel’s new E5-2600 v3 processors completely changes the computing landscape,” said James Huang, Product Marketing Manager, AMAX. “These processors allow more VMs per footprint, superior performance and efficiency for Cloud, HPC and Big Data applications, and provide better total cost of ownership compared to previous generations for the ultimate in cost efficiency.”
“The new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family is built upon our latest Haswell micro architecture and was designed to deliver high performance while continuing to drive energy efficiency for datacenters, and enterprise, cloud, and technical computing markets,” Eoin McConnell, Xeon E5 family Product Line Director, Data Center Group, Intel. “AMAX is utilizing the processors to develop new server solutions to offer a more powerful, more power-efficient computing platform for their customers.”
