Gridstore Releases v3.5 of HyperConverged Infrastructure
Gridstore, the leader in hyper-converged all flash infrastructure for the Microsoft Cloud-Inspired Data Center today announced the release of version 3.5 of the Gridstore HyperConverged Infrastructure. Enhancing Gridstore's unique and patented method to deliver Quality of Service (QoS) on a per-VM basis, as well as new functionality in System Center integration,v3.5 now can be deployed as a Private-Cloud-in-a-Box with support for Azure Pack.
"HyperConverged systems have taken off in the market," said Steve Duplessie, Founder and Senior Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. "Gridstore is the only player in the market offering an all-flash version built exclusively for Microsoft Hyper-V, and the delivery of private cloud enablement adds significant value to their offering."
In v3.5, the new fine grain I/O control extends the ability to define QoS on a policy basis (Platinum, Gold or Bronze) and allows customers to designate specific minimum or maximum amounts of IOPS for each VM or workload, providing finer tuning for precise predictable and manageable performance. This Precision I/O Control can be managed through Gridstore's GridControl UI, or through System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM).
"At Interact for Health we are really excited at being at the forefront of technology with our Gridstore HyperConverged solution," said Cliff Hastings, Interact for Health's Director of IT. "Working with Gridstore has been great and the HyperConverged Appliance is a winner for our organization."
Gridstore's integration with System Center today includes VMM for policy-based provisioning and orchestration of storage resources at VM-level granularity. Building on this with v3.5, Gridstore has released OAuth for admin level authentication to enforce additional security, as well as support for WMI Counters for system-level monitoring, tracking, and reporting of key metrics such as IOPs and latency of each VM.
With HyperConverged Infrastructure v3.5 Gridstore is now supporting Azure Pack, enabling deployment of Private-Cloud-in-a-Box easily and cost-effectively. Windows Azure Pack provides a multi-tenant, self-service private cloud interface that works with Windows Server and System Center, to deliver self-service provisioning, easy movement of workloads to the cloud, and infrastructure management.
"The delivery of v3.5 is a milestone for us," said Kelly Murphy, Founder and CTO, Gridstore. "It allows us to deliver on the promise of an easy to deploy and manage, high performance Private-Cloud-in-a-Box built on the Microsoft technology stack. Customers now have the ability to quickly, easily, and cost-effectively build their own private cloud infrastructures."
