NVIDIA to Showcase New Products at GTCx Australia
MELBOURNE, Australia, Oct. 4 -- NVIDIA will be introducing the recently announced Tesla P4, P40 and P100 for PCIe accelerators at GTCx Australia on October 4 and 5, 2016.
Responsiveness is key for services such as interactive speech, visual search and video recommendations. As deep learning models increase in accuracy and complexity, CPUs are no longer capable of delivering an interactive user experience.
Designed for deep learning inferencing, the Tesla P40 and P4 deliver over 30x faster inference performance compared to CPU for real-time responsiveness. A server with eight P40s can replace more than 140 CPU-only servers for inference workloads, resulting in substantially higher throughput with lower acquisition cost. The ultra-efficient Tesla P4 is a 50/75-Watt GPU designed to accelerate any scale-out server and provides an incredible 60X better energy efficiency than CPUs.
To support the ever-growing computing demands of scientists and researchers, NVIDIA has introduced the Tesla P100 for PCIe, which lets mixed-workload HPC data centres replace up to half a rack of commodity CPU nodes with a single accelerated node that delivers the same throughput in a broad range of HPC applications.
With more than 400 HPC applications accelerated— including nine out of top 10 — all HPC customers can now experience a dramatic throughput boost for their workloads, while also saving money with the Tesla P100 for PCIe.
Gathering of leaders
GTCx Australia is also bringing together technology and though leaders to present and share with participants the power and applications of their GPU-related solutions.
The conference is co-hosted by Monash University. This is the first major event under the recently-formed Monash-NVIDIA partnership.
Technology leaders Dell, IBM, Lenovo, HP Enterprise, MSI, Xenon, and Leadtek are the event sponsors. Facebook and Monash University are deep learning thought leadership partners that will be at GTCx Australia.
GTCx Australia is an extension of GTC, the world’s largest and most important event for GPU developers held annually in San Jose, United States. To be held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event is designed for C-level, professionals, developers, and researchers across many industries — from finance and big data analytics to academia and entertainment.
Themed “Deep Learning AI Revolution -The Next Computing Platform”, it will feature keynote addresses and three tracks covering accelerated computing, Pro VR/Pro Viz and deep learning.
