Advanced Clustering Technologies Announces 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processor Availability for Turn-Key HPC Systems
KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 2, 2019 -- Advanced Clustering Technologies, a provider of custom high performance computing, enterprise data center and cloud solutions, today announced that the latest Intel Xeon Scalable processor (codenamed: Cascade Lake-SP) is now available as part of Advanced Clustering’s custom HPC solutions.
The convergence of compute, memory, network and storage, along with built-in security, make 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Cascade Lake-SP) processors faster and simpler to deploy and scale.
Cascade Lake-SP processors deliver improved Turbo frequencies, up to 4.4 GHz. They also offer support for Intel OptaneTM Data Center persistent memory and enhanced DDR4 performance support, which enables more value to be extracted from larger datasets than was previously possible. It also allows for new data-intensive use cases.
Advanced Clustering Technologies also announced it is now offering the new Cascade Lake Advanced Performance (AP) processors for advanced installations. Cascade Lake AP is designed for a range of demanding workloads including HPC, AI and Cloud. It offers unprecedented memory bandwidth with more memory channels than any other CPU, delivering up to 48 cores per CPU and 12 DDR4 memory channels per socket.

The 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Cascade Lake-SP) processors also provide a boost for deep learning work loads, including a Vector Neural Network Instruction (VNNI) for efficient AI/deep learning inference acceleration. Cascade Lake-SP also provides as much as 3x deep learning throughput compared to the previous generation of generation of Intel Xeon Scalable processors (codename: Skylake).
