Symantec Introduces Attack Detection and Response Endpoint Security Solution

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. Oct. 15, 2019 – Symantec Corp, the world’s leading cybersecurity company, today announced a major revamp to its endpoint portfolio with Symantec Endpoint Security Complete, which now delivers Endpoint Protection and Endpoint Detection and Response in a single solution, as well as new attack surface reduction and breach assessment and prevention capabilities.

From a single agent installation, Symantec Endpoint Security now delivers complete protection across the attack chain for both traditional and mobile devices across enterprise infrastructures using cloud, on-premises and hybrid deployments. The new solution is also available with the option of two advanced threat hunting add-ons.

Security teams find themselves mired in layers of operational complexity, as they manage multifaceted and complex environments with a variety of traditional and non-traditional endpoints; workers in multiple locations; and overburdened staff who must continually defend against an incredible volume of cyberattacks.

To safeguard their organizations from these attacks, security teams need simple, comprehensive and flexible solutions that can address the variety of assets and systems that comprise an organization’s infrastructure. They also need automated assistance with security management to quickly evaluate risks and take action to secure their organization.

“Symantec Endpoint Security will stop emerging threats from impacting the Williams business,” said Graeme Hackland, CIO, Williams. “We’re excited about protection that stops all kinds of attacks, as well as the cloud-delivered innovation – such as the expanding use of artificial intelligence in security management with this Symantec solution. This will definitely free up our time and resources.”

Symantec Endpoint Security is designed to meet the unique needs of every type of organization – including those that want to perform more advanced threat hunting in-house and those that want a fully managed threat hunting service. Managed Endpoint Detection and Response experts provide proactive managed threat hunting, remote investigations, and pre-authorized remediation for organizations that can’t or don’t want to manage these key capabilities themselves.

Additionally, enterprise customers with the in-house skillsets and resources can opt for the brand new Threat Hunting Center add-on, which automates threat hunting across all security

devices present in an organization’s Security Operations Center (SOC), enabling rapid response across billions of events. Threat Hunting Center customers will experience prioritized key alerts, reduced false positives, and faster investigations and incident remediation. The Threat Hunting Center integrates threat intelligence from a variety of sources and will provide retrospective analysis and proactive searches for unknown Indicators of Compromise (IOC’s) in the environment to pinpoint threats and in-process attacks that might not otherwise have been detected.

“In working closely with our customers, we see the significant need for an endpoint solution that is easy to deploy and serves the comprehensive needs of today’s highly connected infrastructures, so we have delivered an accessible, approachable and manageable way for security teams to protect today’s enterprises,” said Adam Bromwich, SVP and GM, Endpoint Solutions, Symantec. “Now Symantec Endpoint Security is even more powerful with flexible deployment models and intelligent automation, giving security teams the ability to employ truly advanced threat protection.” For additional information, visit https://www.symantec.com/products/endpoint.
