Vantage Point Secures $2.25M Investment
May 7, 2020 -- Vantage Point announces a $2.25 million investment in its second round, bringing the company’s total investment to $3.75M. Vantage Point has achieved milestone goals within two years of its launch, with no comparable competition within the Human Resources and Training Industry.
Founded on the belief that immersive technology can drive empathy, Vantage Point developed a first-of-itskind platform for Emotional Intelligence Training. The platform launched in 2017 with a focus on Sexual Harassment prevention, followed by Diversity and Inclusion training.
Vantage Point’s CEO is Morgan Mercer, the company’s sole founder — a woman of color named one of the top 10 Female Tech Innovators in History (TechRadar). Mercer says, “Our goal is to deliver distributed Virtual Reality training in a way that is cost-effective, easy-to-manage, and accessible to all employers even in the wake of COVID-19.”
Since its initial investment in 2017, Vantage Point has acquired a diverse portfolio of new clients, from Fortune 500 companies to UN Member Organizations and publicly-traded companies. Early clients range across technology, consumer goods, consulting services, school districts, recruiting, and other sectors.
Vantage Point has proven to be considerably more effective when compared to traditional employee training modules.
The latest round of investors includes George Hornig (former COO of Deutsche Bank), Quentin Clark (General Catalyst), Jamie Farrell, Shadee Barkan, Ahmed Haque (Trilogy Founding), Mike Bisk (Bisk Ventures), Samara Hernandez (Chingona Ventures), Dana Wright (MATH VENTURES), John Fein (Firebrand), and Bá Minuzzi (UMANA FAMILY).
The new round of funding will go toward presenting VR training as a widely accessible option for all companies. Mercer intends to continue delivering products that exceed client expectations while expanding the company’s reach particularly during this global pandemic and the developing “Work From Home” culture.
In the wake of COVID-19, Mercer predicts that: the “Work From Home” transition will not be a transitory trend, and that companies will increasingly need to invest in more effective tools that promote employee wellbeing and inclusion and bring people together as social and cultural dynamics change; the importance of the CHRO role will be amplified by virtue of COVID-19; and that while Virtual Reality will take off within the consumer landscape, enterprise Virtual Reality companies will need to embrace change and innovation to deliver VR-based training that meets “the future of (remote) work” at home.”
