Scaleway Launches New High-Capacity Server, Reinforces Hybrid Cloud Offering
PARIS, Dec. 10, 2020 -- Scaleway, a fast-growing European public cloud services provider and bare metal pioneer, continues to expand its ranges of dedicated and Bare Metal servers in order to provide a complete user experience, adapted to all customers’ needs. After launching the market’s most powerful bare metal server just last month, this year-end has been marked by a variety of new cutting-edge models for each of Scaleway’s product categories. Scaleway has reinforced its status as a multi-cloud player by offering products adapted for mixed-infrastructure environments.
“Scaleway continues its growth by launching new ultra-high capacity Bare Metal offers as well as the long-awaited new generation of Dedibox dedicated servers - Gen 7. We are cementing our position as a key player in the European public cloud sector, with products which are designed for an integrated ecosystem and open to multi-cloud environments. One of our priorities is to group our dedicated servers with Scaleway’s 2015 pioneering offer - Bare Metal. Hybrid infrastructures combining dedicated and cloud servers are increasingly relevant and fast to deploy, especially when it comes to test environments, load balancing, overloading, storage and big data processing. Our objective is twofold: to maintain the level of service to longtime customers, and to support their progressive shift to the more flexible and user-friendly cloud model which is well adapted to new digital projects. This is why our teams are also working on developing future network features and new options,” said Yann Lechelle, CEO of Scaleway.
New Bare Metal Ultimate offers for extreme use cases
Scaleway recently launched Ultimate Performance, a 100% dedicated cloud server range available hourly with record performances. Ultimate Performance meets the critical needs of companies confronted with increasing data processing requirements and the demand for maximum reliability in the cloud. As an inaugural offering, Scaleway designed XL (UP-BM2-XL), the most powerful bare metal server on the market. This exceptional server offers 448 2.7GHz threads, 7.68TB fast memory, 20.6TB high performance NVMe storage, and 10 to 25 Gbit/sec bandwidth.
Today, a new Bare Metal UP-BM2-M AMD model is also available. Equipped with two AMD EPYC 7742 processors delivering a total of 128 cores and 256 threads, as well as 2048GB of memory, this server covers use cases such as intensive data processing, high performance streaming or the management of memory and parallel computing intensive applications from €7.199 per hour. Another advantage is that with only two processors for such high performance, this is an attractive offer when compared with operating licenses which are often charged by CPU usage.
More new Bare Metal server offerings and other features will be released soon, to expand the range and provide customers with additional options to meet their specific needs.
A new generation of cutting-edge Scaleway Dedibox servers
The infrastructure used by the majority of traditional companies still widely relies on dedicated Dedibox servers which provide performance, extreme reliability, an excellent level of control and security, and competitive pricing. To meet this need, Scaleway Dedibox is continuing to broaden its offerings with an upcoming launch in mid-December of new cutting-edge servers integrating the latest technologies.
Six new products in the Core range and three in the Pro range are planned, with up to 25Gbps public and private bandwidth and the option to tailor hardware with add-ons.
These new offers strengthen Scaleway’s position as a leader not only in the dedicated server segment, but also for Bare Metal, and add to the company’s comprehensive ecosystem of professional solutions to build hybrid architectures.
