Intel and Nokia Partner for Nokia MX Industrial Edge Solution

Oct. 7, 2021 -- Nokia announced the launch of the industry’s first industrial edge solution, Nokia MX Industrial Edge. It will allow enterprises to accelerate their operational technology digitalization initiatives and advance their journeys to Industry 4.0. The new solution is based on Nokia’s AirFrame Open Edge server, which leverages Intel’s latest innovations and central processing units (CPUs) for high-capacity processing.

“Nokia and Intel have a long-standing partnership to provide innovative solutions from the core to the edge of the intelligent network, which Nokia is expanding to accelerate Industry 4.0 adoption,” said Caroline Chan, vice president in the Network Platforms Group and general manager of the Network Business Incubation Division at Intel. “The combination of Intel’s innovations and CPUs alongside Nokia’s MX Industrial Edge platform and 5G technology will offer enterprise customers the ability to connect, deploy and manage their environments. Across different verticals, enterprises will benefit from the scalable performance and high-speed, low-latency reliable communications.”

By adopting the Nokia MX Industrial Edge, enterprises will be able to take advantage of on-premise cloud-edge architecture that provides them with the low-latency required for reliable operations while keeping data local to maintain data sovereignty within the enterprise environment.
