Tabor Communications Adds Publishing Execs to Handle Significant Growth
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 10, 2021 – Tabor Communications Inc. (TCI) has expanded its sales and marketing team in response to increasing demand for reaching the audiences of its three publications, HPCwire, Datanami, and EnterpriseAI. Phil Holtberg was hired as Account Director, focusing primarily on sales for Datanami and EnterpriseAI, and Lara Kisielewska was hired as Chief Marketing Officer to both expand TCI’s footprint as well as oversee expanded client services programs that are now available for companies looking to engage with the audiences of all three publications.
A 19-year veteran of NewBay Media towards the start of his career, Phil climbed the ladder through four different sales positions, ultimately becoming Group Publisher of the Pro AV family of publications and Advertising Representative on all NewBay publications and digital properties, a position he held for more than a decade. Most recently Phil was Account Manager of Springer Nature, handling accounts across pre-clinical and life sciences categories. “I am excited to join the talented team at Tabor Communications,” shared Phil. “I look forward to using my skills and experience to contribute, and being part of their terrific family.”
“We are very pleased to have someone with Phil’s level of experience and expertise join our organization,” said Jeff Hyman, Senior Vice President & Group Publisher, TCI. “The combination of HPC, Analytics and AI will be world-changing, and helping bring buyers and sellers of these technologies together is our contribution to the process. Phil is the right person, at the right time, in the right position to help do just that.”
TCI is also pleased to announce that Lara Kisielewska has joined the team as Tabor’s first CMO, underscoring TCI’s new focus on up-leveling its brand and the services it provides its clients. Lara has dual backgrounds in publishing and high tech marketing, and has been part of the open source and HPC communities for more than 20 years. She co-founded Linux Magazine (among others) and has been running Xand Marketing, which solely services the technical computing market, since 2005.
In the weeks since she came on board Lara has already made an impact, launching a new editorial video series for HPCwire, providing live coverage of SC21, and elevating the status of the Datanami Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards with its first annual party. Initiatives for 2022 include new products across all three publications, an expanded focus on Tabor Events, and a complete brand refresh of the entire Tabor portfolio.
“I can’t be more excited about what these two highly skilled publishing executives bring to the Tabor Team,” said Tom Tabor, Founder and CEO of Tabor Communications Inc. “We are now well positioned to handle the increasing demand for our existing portfolio and to have the necessary capacity for future expansion.”
