SEMI ISS Europe 2022 to Highlight Supply Chain Resilience, Sustainability and Workforce Diversity
BRUSSELS, Belgium, May 16, 2022 — SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium Europe (ISS Europe) will gather industry experts, executives and researchers on May 30, 2022 in Brussels, Belgium for microelectronics market projections and insights into opportunities for Europe to expand its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, build a more sustainable, resilient supply chain and fuel the region’s economic growth. Themed Resilient Europe: Semiconductors Enabling a Sustainable Digital Life, the symposium will also focus on workforce diversity and inclusion – critical to industry innovation and growth as it works to strengthen its talent pipeline. Registration is open.
“Microelectronics are the key enabler of Europe’s green and digital transformation,” said Jens Fabrowsky, executive vice president of Automotive Electronics at Robert Bosch GmbH. “To further increase Europe’s semiconductor production output, enormous efforts by industry, research institutes and public authorities are needed. A globally competitive environment must be generated, including an extensive talent base to enable the urgently needed production capacity increase and innovation in all semiconductor technology fields.”
“Diversity and skills are critical to the sustainability of the semiconductor industry,” said Kate Wilson, president of Edwards Semiconductor. “Our continued innovation depends on our ability to attract bright new talent, and to do that we must demonstrate that we’re a diverse and inclusive sector that offers exciting careers in an industry that is changing the world.”
