Eviden to Launch Applied AI and Edge AI Training Center in Collaboration with NVIDIA and UMBC Training Centers
PARIS, May 2, 2024 -- Eviden today announced its collaboration with NVIDIA and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Training Centers to launch a transformative center for applied AI and edge AI training, designed to serve as a nexus for cutting-edge education, innovation and practical applications in the field of artificial intelligence.
This collaboration harnesses the strengths and expertise of three leading entities in the technology and educational sectors, aiming to equip professionals, innovators and researchers with the advanced skills and knowledge required to excel in the fast-paced world of AI.
Eviden AI experts deliver three-day workshops for attendees, leveraging industry reach and experience to meet the needs of today’s professionals and tomorrow’s challenges. The center introduces an expansive suite of training programs, workshops and resources – each carefully crafted to span the full spectrum of applied AI and edge AI technologies.
Dan Feldhusen, Eviden's AI Business Development Director for North America, said, “Building a digital future with the right competitive advantages for our customers requires a level of collaboration that expands possibilities. Built with the strong collaboration of such specialized and advanced AI experts and platforms, this center becomes a place where learners can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world implementation to shape the future of AI.”
At the forefront of shaping the curriculum, the center utilizes the end-to-end NVIDIA Metropolis and NVIDIA NeMo platforms. Metropolis offers a vision AI developer stack and smart city solutions, and NeMo is a toolset for crafting advanced conversational AI models. These platforms serve as foundational pillars, integral to the curriculum’s focus on the development, optimization and practical deployment of AI solutions at the edge.
The Center for Applied AI at UMBC Training Centers brings to the table its deep expertise in AI education and training, ensuring that participants receive not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills that are directly applicable in the real world. UMBC Training Centers is a premier provider of professional and technical training for individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies.
“This collaboration with Eviden and NVIDIA is a testament to our continued commitment to foster a deep understanding and widespread use of AI tools and applications through the creation of learning spaces,” said Jon Lau, Executive Director of the Center for Applied AI. “This center will serve as a catalyst for individuals and organizations eager to capitalize on AI’s potential for strategic advantage.”
